Quote to love the children

'You have to love the children unselfishly. That is hard. But it is the only way.'
Barbara Bush, Former U.S. First Lady

Learning to be unselfish in all things, especially children, has grown my patience, caring, affection, and love. I realized that my frustrations were not from children, but they were from myself. Realizing that my 'to-do list' was not more important than what a child has to say has taught me a lot. When my own children say, "Mommy, listen..." I instantly stop what I am doing, put myself on hold, and listen to them. Seeing my child happy at that moment makes my heart melt. Let's bring this unselfishness into the classroom.

  2. That is a very good insight Kimberly, thanks for sharing! It is true that we can all be guilty of seeing children and their need for time and attention as a responsibility or obligation which gets in the way of what we really need to do. I agree that as we evolve and grow as a person, it makes us a better teacher and rolemodel for our children. I look forward to reading more from your blog!
