Quotes: Encouraging Educators
'The best way, therefore, to strengthen democracy, to strengthen our nation, to make the most of the possibilities, and to do the best job of meeting the challenges of the 21st century is to guarantee universal, excellent education for every child on our planet.' William Clinton, 42nd President of the United States
'We must do more to make sure education meets the needs of our children and the needs of our future. First and foremost, we must continue to hold students, teachers, and school to the highest standards.' William Clinton, 42nd President of the United States
'Keep in mind that developing a healthy identity and understanding of others is a long-term process. While the early years lay an essential foundation, learning continues throughout childhood and into adulthood and will take many forms.' Louise Derman Sparks, Professor Emeritus Pacific Oaks College
'The passion was that all children were taught in an environment that truly nurtured their ability to develop and grow.' Louise Derman Sparks, Professor Emeritus Pacific Oaks
'When builiding a foundation for children, be clear with what you build on, be clear about how the structure will function and act, and be clear with everything that impact the structure.' Lilian Katz, Professor Emeritus University of Illinois
Wow, President Clinton hit it on the head. It is so important we make education about the children and not ourselves. It is so easy to get caught up in what we want for each child, instead of looking and meeting their needs. The way the economy is going or was going children's needs were being neglected because of the lack of teachers, or lack of care. Thank for posting that quote it was very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteAyonie,
DeleteI agree with you. If we think more about each child's needs, although difficult at times, we can do more for that child.
I'm loving these quotes from President Clinton. However, education is important. As educators it is very important that we meet the needs of our students, because if their needs aren't being met educators are setting them up for failure.
ReplyDeleteAntowah,
DeleteSo true. Failure is sure to follow without meeting basic needs. After discussing this with others, I have also found that we need to find ways to get the parents' needs met also.
Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteThe first quote you have by President Clinton is very similar to the quote I posted by President Johnson. Both of your quotes by President Clinton are profound. The bottom line is Education is the Key to Success. In order for learning and success to occur, schools need to have current tools and resources, teachers need to be knowledgeable and skillfull, and students need to be engaged in lessons and active participants in their learning.
Hi, one of my person's I chose was President Clinton as well. I never knew he had so many great quotes on education and life.
